Messengers on Cycles 2019 – the charity event ride

Dr. Nitin Sumant Shah, Chairman of NCT supported5th year of the annualcharity ride, messenger on cycles’ to celebrate the indomitable spirit of Helen Keller who was a renowned deafblind author and activist. Sense international India organised this cyclothon as sensitization awareness drive in Ahmedabad.  It spreads the message of the importance of education, health and inclusion of people with disabilities into mainstream society by bringing them together on an inclusive, cycling event.  A cyclothon were aimed to target 500 participants this year (including people with disabilities on tricycles) in Ahmedabad to bring about awareness and sensitize people of Ahmedabad to the cause of deaf blindness. The flag off was done by Dr. Nitin Sumant Shah, Chairman of NCT. There were more than 500 cycle riders participated in this event with the aim to spread awareness about the cause of deaf blindness in Ahmedabad. It was also an initiative to bring light on the needs, concerns and rights of people with disabilities and raise funds for education, nutrition and vocational skills for them. Cyclist was messenger on cycles along with the people with disability on tricycles and hand cycles to over 78000 people with deaf blindness across 22 states of India.
