New Address of Dreams for the Visually Impaired – C. U. Shah Pragnyachakshu Education & Rehabilitation Centre
New Address of Dreams for the Visually Impaired
A remarkable milestone in humanity and social service is taking shape in Ahmedabad with the construction of the C. U. Shah Pragnyachakshu Education & Rehabilitation Centre, managed by C. U. Shah Pragnyachakshu Mahila Seva Kunj. This visionary project is dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for visually impaired individuals.
The project has received generous support from several philanthropic organizations and compassionate individuals. Among the major contributors is Dr. Nitin Sumant Shah, Chairman of Heart Foundation & Research Institute (HFRI), whose significant financial assistance has accelerated the construction and strengthened the vision of this humanitarian initiative.
A Landmark Rehabilitation Centre
Once completed, this will be one of India's largest integrated residential rehabilitation centres for visually impaired individuals, with facilities designed to accommodate nearly 1,000 visually impaired brothers and sisters under one roof.
The Centre aims to provide:
- Safe and comfortable residential accommodation
- Nutritious and hygienic meals
- Quality education and skill development
- Vocational training and employment opportunities
- Comprehensive rehabilitation services
- Family-friendly facilities for children of visually impaired residents
- A secure, dignified, and self-reliant living environment
This unique initiative seeks not only to provide shelter but also to empower visually impaired individuals with education, employment, confidence, and independence.
Visionary Leadership
The project is inspired by Padma Shri Muktaben Dagli, Founder of C. U. Shah Pragnyachakshu Mahila Seva Kunj. Despite being visually impaired herself, she has dedicated her life to transforming the lives of thousands of visually impaired girls and women through education, rehabilitation, and empowerment.
Her unwavering commitment continues to inspire countless individuals and organizations to support this noble cause.
Heart Foundation & Research Institute's Contribution
